Ferries to France from Portsmouth Port
My family and I went on a trip to Paris by Ferries to France. We don’t speak French at all, well I do speak a little but only very basic French. We went to visit Toulouse for a day and then we had to take a train to Lourdes. My mum is very catholic so she wanted to go to this religious place and we all had to go with her.
After a whole day of praying and other stuff, we had to take a train back to Toulouse in order to take a bus back to Paris. Finally we would take one of the Ferries to France to go back home.
Everything was calculated. I had to use the little French that I knew to purchase the ticket because nobody spoke English. I was really surprised about that. I was in charge of the ticket and I told my parent that we would leave at 5. So we arranged everything to make it on time. When the time came I got the tickets and I say that the train actually left half an hour before. I got confused with the tickets that we used to arrive to that place, I couldn’t believe my luck. The next train was at quarter past six and the bus departure was at six. This meant that we would lose our bus to Paris.
Ma parent got really mad at me which made me more nervous. All the way in the train I prayed begging to god that we didn’t lose the bus. There were no more buses and we really could afford losing the ferry.
That was the longest journey of my life, I was so angry at myself and couldn’t believe my luck. There was still a small chance for us to catch the bus because the bus station was next to the train station in Toulouse. But French trains were really punctual so it was almost for sure that our bus would leave at the departure time stated in the ticket. The train finally arrived and we run like crazy. We saw that the bus was just leaving. I was so great, It felt like a movie. My mum has a lot of faith and she believes that it was god that helped us. I don’t know if this is true but I know that these coincidences only happen in movies. That is such an anecdote that I always tell my friend.
I really enjoyed Paris and I would recommend anyone that never ever should buy tickets with such short distance in time. It is a high risk that you have and bad things happen all the time.
